BASILICA BAROQUE

Immerse yourself in the splendor of Baroque music as the Cathedral Choral Scholars collaborate with members of the Savannah Philharmonic. This evening promises to be a feast for the senses, featuring J.S. Bach’s glorious Magnificat. This jubilant setting of the words of the Blessed Virgin is conceived on a grand scale, requiring five soloists, a five-part choir and a diverse array of orchestral musicians.

CHRISTMAS AT THE CATHEDRAL

Join us for a beloved holiday tradition as the Cathedral Choir and Chamber Orchestra present their annual “Christmas at the Cathedral” concert. This enchanting evening beautifully intertwines scripture readings with choral music to narrate the story of the Christ child, from the early prophecies to the wondrous visit of the Magi. Embrace the spirit of the season as you sing cherished carols alongside the choir, orchestra, and organ. The evening culminates with a carol by candlelight, creating a memorable and heartwarming experience for all.

Witness an extraordinary evening of sacred music as the Cathedral Choir unites with the Chancel Choir from Wesley Monumental UMC and the Cathedral Brass under the direction of Richard Webster. A revered composer and church musician, Webster has led some of the most respected church music programs in the country and currently serves at the Yale Institute of Sacred Music. His compositions, recognized for their craftsmanship and modern influences, are celebrated worldwide and promise to inspire and uplift.

GESUALDO SIX

The season concludes with The Gesualdo Six, an award-winning British vocal ensemble consisting of some of the UK’s finest consort singers under the direction of Owain Park.
