Boland-Schreck Fund  The Boland-Schreck Fund was established by Bishop Emeritus J. Kevin Boland in honor of Mrs. Patricia B. Schreck who was the Cathedral organist and choir director for 66 years. The fund exists to provide support for the Liturgical music program at the Cathedral Basilica of Saint John the Baptist.

The Boland-Schreck Fund is a driving force in the development of the Cathedral’s sacred music program. Working together with Friends of Cathedral Music, the fund contributes to all manner of music infrastructure improvements ranging from choir folders to chairs, to risers, to new rehearsal pianos. Beginning in 2023, the Boland-Schreck Fund is the sole source of financial support for the Cathedral Children’s Choir. Without this incredible forward-looking fund, we would not be able to offer the important programs that will bear fruit for the Cathedral’s liturgical life for decades.
